Ensomniac Studios has declared the upcoming launch of its very first game for the iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, and Android devices on March 06, 2014. Glint is a puzzle game where players dodge bombs, collect rings, and score power ups. The game takes its visual cues from the movie industry, and hints of gameplay mechanics from classics, for example, Fruit Ninja and Candy Crush Saga.
Ryan Martin is the founder of Ensomniac Studios and the game Glint is his first mobile game. In this game, he utilized his skills perfected when working on movies such as “The Avengers,” “Indiana Jones,” “Star Trek” and “Pacific Rim”. The game presents on Twitter and Facebook. Ensomniac Studios is based out of San Francisco, California. It is producing high quality digital content and it is currently centered on mobile application and game development.

Phenakistoscope (1831) A phenakistoscope disc by Eadweard Muybridge (1893).The phenakistoscope was an early animation device. It was invented in 1831 simultaneously by the Belgian Joseph Plateau and the Austrian Simon von Stampfer. It consists of a disk with a series of images, drawn on radii evenly spaced around the center of the disk. Slots are cut out of the disk on the same radii as the drawings, but at a different distance from the center. The device would be placed in front of a mirror and spun. As the phenakistoscope is spun, a viewer would look through the slots at the reflection of the drawings which would only become visible when a slot passes by the viewer's eye. This created the illusion of animation.
