Cartoon Network India releases two new shows Steven Universe and Lego’s Mixels. The shorts of Mixels will be telecast every Saturday at 8:00 AM and Steven Universe every Sunday at 10:30 AM.
Mixels are an original global franchise made by the powerhouse partnership of two of the largest forces in kids’ entertainment Cartoon Network and the LEGO Group. It is centered on a world of colorful animals that can mix and combine with one another leading to hilarious and surprising outcomes. They are comical, mischievous creatures that live in tribes of three and started on 15 February 2014.
Steven Universe is the most recent original animated comedy series from Cartoon Network Studios. It is about the misadventures of a boy named Steven, the ultimate “little brother” to a team of magical guardians of humanity the Crystal Gems. Steven may not be as powerful as the Crystal Gems or as savvy. Steven Universe premiered on 16 February 2014.
With the Indian games industry evolving, studios have begun to develop games for current gen consoles. Leading the pack is Version2Games Limited, which is working on one of the first PSN games from an Indian developer, Smash N Survive, a fast-paced vehicle combat game, as well as several future projects. Version 2 Games Limited is a subsidiary of Zen Technologies, a company that specializes in high-tech simulators.
Phenakistoscope (1831) A phenakistoscope disc by Eadweard Muybridge (1893).The phenakistoscope was an early animation device. It was invented in 1831 simultaneously by the Belgian Joseph Plateau and the Austrian Simon von Stampfer. It consists of a disk with a series of images, drawn on radii evenly spaced around the center of the disk. Slots are cut out of the disk on the same radii as the drawings, but at a different distance from the center. The device would be placed in front of a mirror and spun. As the phenakistoscope is spun, a viewer would look through the slots at the reflection of the drawings which would only become visible when a slot passes by the viewer's eye. This created the illusion of animation.
