With Eega rocking the Box Office in
the South, rumor on the Hindi look of the movie has been widespread.
While some went to the level of saying that Abhishek Bachchan would be
essaying Nani s role, others claimed the film would be remade in 3D.
However, director SS Rajamouli rubbishes all these rumors, but confirms
that he is working on the Hindi dubbed version of the movie.
Rajamouli
said, We will be releasing Makkhi, the Hindi version of Eega, in a
month s time. When asked if he had approached Abhishek Bachchan to play
Nani s role, he categorically stated, We have not approached Abhishek
or any actor in the Hindi film industry. There will be no 3D version,
but we are making a few changes to suit Hindi audiences. In Telugu, the
fly dances to Chiranjeevi and other Tollywood star songs, but in its
Bollywood avatar, it will groove to Salman Khan and Hrithik Roshan hits.
And precisely which songs will the makkhi be dancing to? To that
producer Suresh Babu says, For Salman s moves, we would like to take a
song from Dabangg or Bodyguard. We have to see which song best suits the
movements of our fly.
Given
that the 3D rumour was very strong in the industry, we asked producer
Suresh Babu if they ever had planned for it. Confirming it, he said,
Initially, we did plan to make it in 3D as the animated fly makes for
great three-dimensional visuals. But we had to drop the idea because it
was time-consuming, if we took it up it would not be ready for release
only by yearend. Besides, it costs nearly 7 crore to change the format.
