The Best Animated Frames (BAF) Awards will take place on March 12th, 2014 at Hotel Renaissance, Powai, Mumbai for which entries are invited in various categories of Animation, Visual Effects & Gaming. For this year’s award function Australia is the partner country.
Some of the Indian VFX and Gaming,  Animation studios that have bagged nominations in several categories are Spellbound Productions, Prime Focus, Toonz Animation India, Ubisoft Entertainment Pune,  Animagic Special Effects, Studio Eeksaurus, Magic N Colors, Future Works Media, Aura Cinematics, Vertex Volt, Dumadu Games.

In Indian Category, the nominations in the Animated Feature Films (Theatrical Release) is Shilpa Ranade’ Goopi Gawaiya Bagha Bajaiya and Green Gold Animation’s Chhota Bheem and the Throne of Bali.

In the VFX in a Motion Picture Indian Category, Visual Computing Labs – Tata Elxsi Ltd ‘Dhoom 3’, Redchillies.vfx ‘Krrish 3’ and Reliance Media Works ‘Kadal’ are competing with each other.


In Indian Student Category of Animated Short Film, the nominations are College of Amravati, IIT Bombay, National Institute of Design, Industrial Design Centre, AJK Mass Communication Research Centre, and DSK Supinfocom International Campus.

For Animated Short Film the Professional nominees are Shri Hanuman Chalisa by Charuvi Design Labs and Komal by Climb Media. Special Jury Award for Animated Short Film Student is declared for ‘For the Love of Cat’ by Ecole Modiale World School & Toon Club. The Cross Platform Game Indian Category has named Dhoom 3: The Game, Football Kick Flick and Battle of Chepauk as its nominations.

Mobile and Tablet Game Touch Screen Indian Category has named Janmajaya Mohanty’ BalleBalle Ride, Disney UTV: Hit out Heroes, Spiel Studios Pvt. Ltd. Galaxy Run, Next wave Multimedia Pvt Ltd, Race with Words and 99 Games Online Private Limited, Dhoom 3: The Game.

 In International category, 7Seas Entertainment Limited bags nomination for Blob Brothers and Dark man Fight in Social Game-Online/Mobile.
 International Studios Frame store, Satoko Iinuma, ArtFx, has found a place in varied categories.

The Awards ceremony will begin from 6 30 PM IST, post ‘The FICCI INK Salon’ panel discussion with creative individuals working projects that can have a strong social affect, which will be moderated by Lakshmi Pratury, Curator, INK Conference and panelists will be Roger Fisk, PR Expert, President Obama’s Campaign, Shilo Shiv Suleman, Artist, Vicky Roy, Photographer , Shankar Tucker, Musician.
