Dilsukhnagar Arena, India s Largest Digital Media Academy
celebrated the 2012 edition of Pixellence Awards, an annual extravaganza
aimed at recognizing and honoring shining Digital Media talent at
Hyderabad on Thursday, the 26th of January, 2012 from 4. p.m. to 8 p.m.
amidst scores of students, parents and staff.
A
string of entertaining performances including a very special and
heart-touching song-dance sequence by tiny tots from a local school made
the day truly exciting and memorable. The highlight of the celebrations
was the special appearance by the CEO of Dilsukhnagar Arena Raja Sekhar
Buggaveeti as the fiery freedom fighter Alluri Sitarama Raju.
Towards
the end of the day, Mr. Raja Sekhar Buggaveeti, CEO of Dilsukhnagar
Arena presented the Pixellence awards to 31 deserving students. Earlier
on, in the run up to the Awards ceremony, students participated
enthusiastically and submitted about 450 entries in over 15 categories
of Animation, VFX, Web and Graphics. The entries were judged on 4
parameters: Concept, Designs, Output Quality and Presentation. Given the
high quality of entries, the judges had a tough time selecting the
winners.
Speaking to ANIMATION SUTRA.COM on the
sidelines of the event, Mr. Raja Sekhar Buggaveeti quipped: ever since
inception in 1998, we have been setting the standards in Digital Media
Education and Pixellence is one annual event that always pushes our
students to raise the bar of excellence.
From
capturing over 37 prestigious awards at various National-International
Film Festivals and Digital Art Competitions to delivering a
record-snapping 612 placements in 2011 and 550 placements in 2010,
Dilsukhnagar Arena has proved time and again that it is India s best
Academy for discerning students of Animation, VFX, Web and Graphics. And
Pixellence-2012 served as another acknowledgment of the Academy s
superlative training standards with 31 students bagging coveted awards.
The
categories open for competition in Pixellence-2012 included Stop
Motion Animation, Modeling, Texturing, Lighting, Compositing, Character
Design, Storyboard, Layout, Manual Paintings, Digital Paintings, Product
Demo, Interactive Presentation, Dream weaver Web site, Live Action
Short Film, Title Sequence Design, Elocution, Public Speaking, Group
Discussion and more. Each category had two prizes: Winner and Runner-up.
