WHAT A START...!!
FICCI
FRAMES 2012 started off in a grand style on 14th March at Renaissance
Convention in Mumbai by Lighting of Lamp by Sonam Kapoor and other
dignitaries on the dais. The event was graced by several renowned
delegates from the government and Media and Entertainment Industry
including the Honourable Chief Minister of Maharashtra Mr. Prithviraj
Chavan, Mr. Karan Johar, Senator Chris Dodd, Chairman, MPAA, Mr. Uday K
Varma, Secretary, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Mr.
Prosenjit Chatterjee, Uday Shankar and other few delegates. The
inaugural ceremony also witnessed the release of FICCI-KPMG Report,
FICCI Amarchand Lawbook and Consumer Survey.
Addressing
the gathering Mr. CM shared few facts and figures of Maharashtra for
being the worlds largest Film and Media industry, which is offering
numerous opportunities from the regional media and indicated that the
growth rate of the industry is very healthy.
Senator
Chris Dodd, Chairman, MPAA said that he is very much delighted to be at
FICCI FRAMES and indicated the importance of the relationship of
Hollywood and Bollywoood and gave some facts and figures of the growth
of Hollywood during the course of time. He has also emphasized the
tremendous growth of Indian media and entertainment industry and shared
the fact that worlds highest number of movie tickets are sold in India.
Mr. Chris also shared that Indian Media and entertainment industry was
3.2 billion dollar industry which will become a 5 million dollar
industry in the coming 4 years.
There
were also other enthralling discussions happened under the
moderatorship of Mr. Ashish Kulkarni, CEO, Reliance Animation on the
India-Japan Partnerships in Animation in terms of content sharing,
co-production and creation of animation in India. In this session
delegates from Japan shared their views of their content creation and
their expectations from India to co-produce their animation content.
Animation
Master class, going global Storytelling that travels by Silas Hickey
Regional Creative Director for Animation at Cartoon Network Asia Pacific
which had an excellent response, especially to their award winning
television series, The amazing world of Gumballs which was hugely
applauded.
Apart
from animation there were also many other sessions happened which
discussed the subjects like, The Challenges for the Print Medium in the
Coming Decade, Maximizing the Power of Digital Distribution, Marketing,
Distribution & Monetization in the Multiplatform Era, Addressable
digitization-The Way Forward, From Theatre to Home to the Handheld:
Superior entertainment experience all the way.
The
power paced day ended with a blasting performance of a well known
singer Mr. Adnan Sami who gave an energetic end for the first day of
FICCI FRAMES 2012.
