Ever since ‘Tanhaji’ director Om Raut announced ‘Adipurush’ with ‘Rebel Star’ Prabhas, every news, scoop and gossip regarding the massive project has been doing the rounds on the internet. Recently, the pan-Indian project gained more attention when Saif Ali Khan was finalised to lock horns with Prabhas as the 'Most Intelligent Demon' Lankesh. While the leading lady for the role of Sita is yet to be confirmed, the names of actresses like Keerthy Suresh and Kiara Advani have been doing the rounds on the internet.
Meanwhile, it’s already evident that Adipurush will be shot in 3D format and it features an extensive range of visual effects. If the on-going speculations are anything to by, the makers of the big-budget project are in talks with the VFX supervisors of ‘Avatar’ and ‘Star Wars’ to work on the graphics in the epic period actioner. Grapevine also suggests that the film will be completely shot in green mat technology and so, it will take place indoors. Several Hollywood movies like Aquaman, 300, Gravity and Sin City have been shot entirely on Green Screen. However, an official confirmation is still awaited on the news.

To fit the bill as Lord Rama, the 'Radhe Shyam' actor has started working on his body and has been learning archery. Talking about casting the ‘Baahubali’ star for the role, Om Raut said “Prabhas was the obvious choice for the role. I believe he is at the right point to do the role. His eyes, his stance fits perfectly into Adipurush’s description. There is nobody else who can do the role. He is working on his physique right now. Adipurush is an ace archer and he has a great body. So the actor is aiming for the physique of an archer.”

Bankrolled by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar under T-Series, Adipurush is an adaptation of the Indian epic that revolves around the triumph of good over evil. According to Hindu mythology, Lord Ram is also addressed as Adi Purusha. Currently in the pre-production stage, the film will go in floors on 2021 and hit the theaters in 2022.
